12 Days of Christmas - Card 12

One more sleep to Christmas......
I wanted to end with something that typifies our Christmas spent in Australia. I know we love and embrace the whole snowflake and Winter wonderland scenes that we see in the Northern Hemisphere, but with sweltering 42 degree celsius temperatures that we experience over the Christmas break, the beach and the pool are never far from our minds.
Merry Christmas to you and your family wherever you are in the world.
I’ll see you in the New Year and Decade.

12 Days of Christmas - card 11

I’ve gone for the ‘Lovely Letters Alphabet’ stamp to create this one, and also ‘Baroque Motif's’. These are two stamp sets that are not typical Christmas stamp sets.
It may be hard to tell but the swirls are silver embossed on ‘Elegant Eggplant’. The background of the Noel is done with the polished stone technique using ‘Lavender Lace’ and ‘Lovely Lilac’ re-inkers.
Believe it or not I still have lots of ideas for Christmas cards. It’s all a matter of finding time to work them in. I hope you are enjoying my eclectic collection. I’ll be back again with my last card before Christmas.

12 Days of Christmas - card 10

With this card, I’ve made use of the rest of my polished stone background that was used in my previous card.
I have long thought of using the flower silhouettes from ‘Inspired by Nature’ and marking them in red and green for a Christmas card. I think that it has all come together nicely and I’m quite pleased with the result.
Hope you like it too
Christmas Cheers
Jen

12 Days of Christmas - card 9

I’ve included some more of the polished stone technique with this one. This time I went for Reds and Pink in my background. Can you tell I like my metallics especially around Christmas time. I love to break out the silver and Gold embossing powder, cause if you can’t do it at Christmas time, when can you do it...right ?!!
OK I think I went a bit overboard with the swirls. If I was making this card again I would be more subtle with the swirls.
Well I hope you like my latest card. Now we’re off to look at neighbourhood Christmas Lights
Christmas Cheers

12 days of Christmas - card 8

We’re counting down now! Only 5 days to Christmas. At the rate I’m going I’ll probably be taking my 12 D’s of C right up until Christmas eve. Hopefully it will provide you with a nice distraction from all the festive preparation going on. Like most people I love Christmas time but it all gets away so quick with so much to do and so much to remember. I will certainly be breathing a sigh of contented relief when Boxing Day arrives.
And now to the card, I’ve been playing around with the ‘polished stone’ technique lately. Using SU re-inkers and Rubbing alcohol to mimic the alcohol inks that are on the market. For this background I’ve used Pacific Point and Baja Breeze re-inkers. The trees which have been embossed in white were the first to go on, followed by the Polished stone creating an embossed resist effect. The glistening snow was added last with a direct to paper dab of Versamark and a mixture of White embossing powder and Dazzling Diamonds.
I hope you are enjoying my Christmas card series. Please remember to e-mail me if you have any questions about anything you’ve seen on my blog.
Christmas Cheers

12 Days of Christmas - card 7

Another pudding card! The difference being this time I used the 5-petal punch to make the holly, much easier than cutting it out freehand.
This card was inspired by Monica Gale, a very talented UK demonstrator. I love how she put Certainly Celery into a Christmas Card. I made some changes, so it doesn’t look too much like hers. You can see Monica’s card here.
I created a much more simple version for my daughter Jasmine to give out to her classmates along with candy canes this week, she even helped me punch out most of the pieces. It’s great she gets excited about making cards and writing in them.
My son Rowan on the other hand asked why was I putting ‘Noel’ (as in the man’s name) on the cards!!

12 Days of Christmas - card 6

A Simple one today. The idea for this card came from an SU publication from the US.
The Tree Trimmings stamp set may have disappeared from a current catalogue but you could adopt this layout with a similar bauble set.
I’ve used my ‘Stamp-a-ma-jig’ to get a perfect alignment of bowes and baubles. Apart from that, a very simple card indeed.

12 days of Christmas - card 5

Hi all,
These colours are not typically very traditional for  Christmas. But I thought I’d give them a go. I’ve used Always Artichoke and Soft Sage as my base colours.
The set ‘So Swirly’ has been stamped in AA with some snowflakes white embossed. Dazzling Diamonds have been applied with 2 way glue, Add a ribbon and Scallop edging and there you have it.
Thanks for looking.

12 Days of Christmas - card 4

On Friday night our Stampers Anonymous Group had a lovely Christmas Dinner at Sue’s house. Everybody that attended had a secret Santa that made them a special gift, and we also took part in a card swap. Here is my card that was randomly picked by Helen.
You may not be able to tell, but the baubles are gold embossed with crystal effects giving them a beautiful glass effect. ‘Seasons Greetings’ at the bottom is also gold embossed, and the whole card looks a lot better in real life.
Thanks for stopping by....

12 days of Christmas - card 3

Geeez, I better get on with these Christmas cards, I’m only up to no.3 and Christmas is in 20 days time! Just thought you’d like to be reminded! Ha!
This is a card we created in last months Christmas stamp-a-stack, hence the use of the beautiful Scallop oval punch used here. It’s not available now along with the Spring Mini, but I’m sure the punch will make a return next year in another Catalogue.
Speaking of Catalogues, the Summer Mini is now available and if you haven’t got one please let me know, so I can mail one to you. You can email me here with your details.
Thanks for looking and I’ll be back with more Christmas inspiration very soon.
